Give it up once again for the scolding centrists who told progressives to calm down and insisted the Right wouldn’t go beyond abortion rights.

The GOP enables child abuse. And it runs up the ladder to the abuse and subjugation of women. Period. https://t.co/K2pd5iYnkV

I asked you about statutory text.

"The right-wing AG totes promises the right-wing's anti-abortion law doesn't do the bad thing it demonstrably did" ain't it, chief. https://t.co/coEgX6PThb

Also, the right has moved pretty quickly from "this is an extreme hypothetical that never happens" to "prosecute the doctor and put her photo on Fox News" in real short order https://t.co/A0IDD62DPY

I dunno. Looks like one side says "govt forcing pregnant women to carry to term against their will is bad, and has harrowing consequences, like this" and the other says "no it's good, arrest the doctor" or "there are no downsides, this must be made up, your conscience is clean." https://t.co/g2qyXhfK4q

Addendum, since you're relying on "serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment" as your out.

The statute defines that too. Here's the part that makes you full of shit:

Once the law has been enacted, the legislators (even those who drafted it) have zero control over "how it would be", the text controls that.

NB: politicians lie about what laws do all the time. https://t.co/TJdHW4UqGb

anti-choice people acting shocked when people take them at their word that they believe abortion is murder and therefore children should be forced to give birth.

This new rhetorical two-step of claiming abortion when the mother's life is at risk is not actually abortion is really a sight to see. There seems to be no indication that definition exists anywhere in law, it's just very much a "trust me, bro" thing.

It’s odd to me that everyone doubted a single source anecdote about a 10 year old rape victim but that literally every “just asking questions” mainstream media stories about teen transition have that one doctor who is like “I heard about this one kid who was rushed into hormones”

First off, it doesn't apply.

Second, it's an affirmative defense, not an exception. That typically means you get to raise ir at trial, or maybe at a motion hearing if you're lucky.

Decent odds you will have months or years in jail to look forward to it. https://t.co/QlwqAX3sGW
