The Racial Element of Trump’s Attacks on His Prosecutors by Jill Lawrence (thebulwark.com)
Why it matters that he calls them “racist” and “animal.”

Who says out loud that they want more immigrants from Norway and fewer from Haitee? The same person who’s been saying that stuff out loud since 2015 and the same person who millions of Americans nonetheless voted for more than once and the same person who has numerous defenders who are more than willing to go to the wall for him no matter what he says or does.

But don’t you dare do so much as imply that there’s a hint of racism in any of this. None of these people are racist, they all have black/Jewish best friends and they love Israel for extra insurance just in case the best friends aren’t enough.

Playing with Substack's new notes feature, and they call reposts "restacks". Doesn't that imply that something was stacked in the first place? Other than that, and Substack's already-existing accessibility issues, (oof that editor), not a bad attempt. Then again, not sure how you can screw up something like notes, although Elon Musk will probably figure out how to do it and give us a masterclass.

The interview did not […]

Mehdi Hasan Dismantles The Entire Foundation Of The Twitter Files As Matt Taibbi Stumbles To Defend It by Mike MasnickMike Masnick (techdirt.com)
So here’s the deal. If you think the Twitter Files are still something legit or telling or powerful, watch this 30 minute interview that Mehdi Hasan did with Matt Taibbi (at Taibbi’s own demand): Hasan came prepared with facts. Lots of them. Many of which debunked the core foundation on which Taibbi and his many […]

Why do we hate the Yankees?

Money. They have enough to make Solomon BLUSH. And they’re jerks about it. Everyone has to fit the mold these days.

Also? Their fans. They made racist remarks towards our Kwan last year and they can fuck themselves for that.

Bash a man’s skills all you want. Please. God knows we do.

But you fucking well leave race out of it.

After Nashville, Action on Assault-Style Weapons? by Jill Lawrence (thebulwark.com)
Mass shootings are happening with a frequency that numbs, but Republicans are working to loosen, not tighten, gun restrictions.

I don’t know why anyone continues to put forth the hope expressed in the headline of this piece. We’re not getting anything close to this until what is currently the Republican party loses everything, at every level, repeatedly, for at least two decades.
