Also, he's nog going to build tech for surveillance? How long has this individual been working for Google? Has he been living under a rock? Because almost everything Google does has some sort of surveillance component.

Guess the employee got his stated wish. Although if it were honestly about the ethics around building tech that would be used for bad things he could have just quietly resigned, and he didn't. That was about a performance.
