@technolass For the love of God please don't clutter the homepage with stuff, navigation menus are fine as long as you don't try to do fancy flyout stuff, and links to other stuff internal to your site within your homepage's body text is absolutely fine.

@bryansmart @cublanco @serrebi We never had one on the porch, just a tiny one that barely did anything. But yeah if you can get a large/powerful one, plus screened in, plus comfortable chair and maybe a table for your shit, it's one of the best experiences that can be had for cheap.

@cublanco @bryansmart @serrebi I'd suggest beer, but you can't drink beer warm while you can get away with not having a cooler for whisky and such. And in the south, that shit matters, especially in the summer time.

@cambridgeport90 @_L1vY_ FSE uses the block editor, so it inherits all of its problems, to say nothing of the extra ones it introduces. It's fine for simple sites. Don't use it with anything indieweb unless you're also willing to install the indieblocks plugin. Not sure how well that works with FSE.

@tchambers Did I just read correctly that according to this author, Mastodon doesn't have replies or direct messages? Even setting aside the legit problems with Mastodon's direct messaging system, these two things definitely exist.
