@sclower @VE3RWJ Speaking for myself: Because UEB is missing a bunch of contractions in Grade II, it takes up more space. And in a world where braille cells are at a premium, (20-cell braille displays for example), that converts to way more scrolling, which depending on the display being used can be a slow process. All of this contributes to its being cumbersome to read. Separately from this, UEB is just aesthetically displeasing. It's ugly.

@VE3RWJ As someone who uses all three of those I can tell you that the attempt at combining them all into one code hasn't worked out well, at least for readers. For one thing, Nemeth is still used despite the attempt at combination because the new combination lops off a ton of stuff we get in Nemeth.

I'm going with this.

Yes I miss that contraction, as well as the ble contraction, the contraction of the word "to" depending on context, and I just miss all of it why did they have to make braille ugly?

Yeah I can't stand UEB. I can read it, but I have a 20-cell display and I absolutely hate the fact that they just waste cells because they think they can. Also it's ugly, which I know is a completely irrational position that is based entirely on aesthetic sensibilities.

Looks like it will only definitely include anyone who has already made their names public, via media interviews, for example. Other victims and innocent associates have the ability to object to their names/documents being released, but must do so by January 1.
