Substack CEO Chris Best Doesn’t Realize He’s Just Become The Nazi Bar by Mike MasnickMike Masnick (techdirt.com)
I get it. I totally get it. Every tech dude comes along and has this thought: “hey, we’ll be the free speech social media site. We won’t do any moderation beyond what’s required.” Even Twitter initially thought this. But then everyone discovers reality. Some discover it faster than others, but everyone discovers it. Twitter Suspends User For Sharing Washington Post Story About Pentagon Docs Leaker by Mike MasnickMike Masnick (techdirt.com)
You know the drill by now. In October of 2020, the NY Post ran a story about the contents of a laptop hard drive that Hunter Biden apparently left at a computer repair store. @alexl @menelion Wait hang on. FLOSS software devs will gladly make their software at least marginally visually appealing for free and that's just par for the course, but making it accessible for free is just too much of an ask? I'm all for FLOSS devs getting paid. God knows I've done enough contributing to FLOSS projects for free. But making accessibility some sort of extra/nice to have when actually it's something you should be doing out of the gate is a huge +
