Get in fedizens, we’re doing Wednesday. And I haven’t done one of these in a little while.

First, welcome to all the new people checking out the fediverse by way of Mastodon and of course Lemmy and KBin. I know a lot of you are coming from Twitter once again, and while I think you and the communities you’ve built deserve way more than death by a thousand fuck-ups, I think you will be able to make a home here.

Second, I’m glad the Fourth is over. The fireworks have been going on here since over the weekend, and really, people who insist on setting them off for days seriously annoy me at this point. I mean hell, we’ve had absolute shit air quality here and you want to fucking add to it because muh freeeeeedom!? To say nothing of all the damn noise. Also you probably spent two-weeks’ salary on them and in less than 5 seconds you’ll be complaining about how expensive gas or groceries are.

Also, 303 Creative. I’m still furious about it, and I’ll probably write all my thoughts down in an article later because it’ll take way more than 500 characters to address. And no, it will not be civil.

Maybe some baseball later on today, and also, it’s hot out there Mr. Bigglesworth. Air quality seems to have calmed down though so there’s that.

I can’t remember who it was that was asking on the fediverse about parcing likes from Twitter in some sort of a useable format with dates, but I am here to tell whoever it was that the reason we can’t do this is because Twitter does not include so much as a unix timestamp in the like.js file contained in your archive, which is also why we can’t sort from oldest to newest in the HTML renderer. All you get is the text and expanded archive.
Welp so much for that project… https://acarson.wtf/?p=256695

I was today years old when I realized you can press ctrl+shift+tab to move through open browser tabs in reverse order. I got desperate so I tried it.
Also, I’m drinking out of my WordPress mug today in order to celebrate WordPress’s twentieth anniversary because I’m grateful for everything WordPress the software, but especially WordPress the community, has given me over the last fifteen years. Happy birthday WordPress, and may we celebrate at least twenty more together!… https://acarson.wtf/?p=256692

There’s a special place in whatever hell may or may not exist for WordPress plugin authors whose upgrade link is definitely in the tab order, but whose update/save settings button is an invalid hypertext reference that can’t be clicked using a keyboard no matter how you slice it and is definitely not in the tab order at all. https://acarson.wtf/2023/05/28/256689/ State College(3ft)
