Oh and did I mention how absolutely user-hostile trying to use an already licensed under one user copy of Office 365 under a second user's account is? Because this is totally not happening without the extortion of Microsoft demanding I either add another license, which I will need to use on the incoming laptop, or just don't use Office in anything other than "we're taking your shit hostage" mode.

I entirely understand why non-techheads hate technology, because I want to throw things. I'm already dreading having to call support to unlicense the dead computer next week.

Get in Babkans and other fedizens, we've made it to Friday.

I'm extremely glad Shabbat is coming later today, because I am here to tell you that we have six days left in 5784 and the entire rest of 5784 is fired.

This all started Wednesday morning, when I woke up to find that my computer had bitten the dust over night, of which I got confirmation yesterday thanks to some sighted assistance. And when I say "bitten the dust", I mean it won't even attempt to boot. Just white screen with faint Dell logo.

I'm waiting on a provisional laptop from a friend for whom I will gladly hide bodies, which I should receive sometime next week. And to deal with truly pressing issues I'm using an extra account on John's computer.

All of this is why activity on the fediverse has been extremely lite for this week.
