Yeah I wonder the same thing, because we do. But apparently they will eat just about anything. They apparently especially like sweat-stained cloth, which we don't have in the kitchen. Also carpet, which we also don't have. Yes I've googled the crap out of crickets.

It's kind of funny because the cricket literally stays in one general area. I'm a little surprised it hasn't tried to get out or anything.

Yeah it's chirping now. It'll do that until about 5 in the morning, and it starts about now. Admittedly he's not as loud as he probably could be.
