@nycki96 @gocu54 Also, you want to talk about what's not fair? What's not fair, Lynn, is chunks of those Gazans you care so much about betraying the Israeli kibutzniks who hired them to work on their kibutzim, transported them to hospitals when they needed care, and participated in peace summits with them, one of which was days before October 7, by handing over maps and the names of people to Hamas to be killed or taken hostage. What's not fair is zero Gazans providing any information on the location of hostages to the Israelis, or even showing kindness to any of those hostages, several of which have testified to being kept in the homes of Gazan families. That's what's not fair.

@nycki96 @gocu54 I've never said that lots of innocents haven't died in Gaza. And I'm pretty sure you know exactly what the actual purpose is, and the fact that you apparently expect zero civilion deaths and essentially the leaving of Hamas intact puts the lie to all of your insistances that Israel has the right to defend itself and all that stuff about working towards peace and a two state solution.

Toot by Lynn I 馃椊Lynn I 馃椊 (social.vivaldi.net)

@nycki96 @gocu54 You constantly claim that Israel isn't doing what you think it should for peace (TM), and then refuse to provide any sort of answer to what you think it should actually do. You constantly slander Israel and by extension anyone who doesn't swallow the Palestinian narrative wholesale, only to then make pious noises about blame games and peace. It's fine for you to not have solutions, but the proper response to that is not to constantly run off at the mouth about how bad one party is only to then retreat to pious antiwar platitudes when you get called on it.

@nycki96 @gocu54 Israel has made effort after effort after effort towards peace. Every single time, it gets Palestinian terrorism in return. In response to multiple offers of 97% of the West Bank, it has gotten rejection and more terrorism. As far as aid and starving is concerned, Israel has facilitated 1,813,484 tons of food and other aid into Gaza since the start of the war, which Hamas then steals significant chunks of and then sells back to the population at exhorbitant rates, and you blame Israel for any and all suffering. You claim you don't support Israel's people being killed only to then scream bloody murder whenever Israel does anything to stop it. What do you think they should do, offer Hamas and Hezballah tea and pastries and ask politely to please stop the rockets and raids?

Toot by Lynn I 馃椊Lynn I 馃椊 (social.vivaldi.net)

@nycki96 @gocu54 Also, and especially since you think Israel went too far in Iran even though it has only targeted military targets and the assets needed for its neuclear weapons program, do you expect people to just allow themselves to be killed in order to avoid killing or is there any situation where your peace plan for humanity would permit anyone to kill? or is it unicorns and rainbows all the way down?

@nycki96 @gocu54 I never said Israel has some sort of right to divinely kill, as you put it. It has a duty to defend its citizens, and to do whatever it takes to ensure that things like October 7 never happen again. It does not have an obligation to continue to tolerate its neighbors lobbing missiles at it or committing terrorist attacks inside it or abducting its citizens, not even for the sake of your vaunted peace. There's being a peaceful person, and then there's being at best naive and at worst expecting Israel to operate by a standard you do not expect any other nation to operate by. If you want less violence, then maybe you should sue for Israel's neighbors to attack less, and in the case of Gaza since you keep trying to tie everything back to it, for Hamas to surrender and hand back all the hostages

@lynnskyi @gocu54 Everything Nicky said, except not just last week and not just one person. So I'm sorry people you don't like are solving a problem you can't bring yourself to acknowledge in a way you don't like, but Team Diplomacy has had 30 years to fix this and has abjectly failed, and you are not entitled to more failing forward on the part of said team while people other than you continue to pay the price for it. And, racing to the defense of a regime that hangs LGBTQ people from cranes just for being who they are and forcibly detransitions trans people, during Pride Month no less, all because you hate Trump and really can't be bothered to give a crap about any Israeli until you're called on it is one hell of a bad look. And no, all-lives-mattering this doesn't cut it.

Toot by Lynn I 馃椊Lynn I 馃椊 (social.vivaldi.net)

@gocu54 All of that was tried already. It didn't work. And if people like you had been half as outraged about Iran's conduct against the people of the Middle East as you are about Iran finally being dealt with instead of just continuing to kick the can down the road, we might be in a different place. But we're not. I have no idea how you got yourself to the place where you're coming to the defense of one of the worst regimes on this planet.

@gocu54 So you think they should have just been allowed to build a nuclear bomb, which they would have then launched at Israel? You think they should just get a time-out or something? Because that's totally worked over the last 40 years. And we all know what would have happened had they launched a nuke. The same thing's that's happened as they've launched missiles at civilions. Crickets.
