I’m just going to admit this even though it makes me sound like an insensitive asshole, because look, we all make mistakes and the point is to grow, right?

when I first came to Mastodon and people were reminding me to add alt text to my images, I was a little irked

then I read several posts about how much this means to people who rely on reading apps to understand the web

now I’m fully converted. I enjoy writing alt text.

and I think it’s crazy this isn’t standard across all social mediums.

Gravatar now supports Mastodon as a verified service. Also, Stack Overflow and GitHub. I found this out by looking at someone else’s WordPress profile on wordpress.org! OK, cool.

Legit, seeing `<span role=”button”>` in someone’s code makes me want to ask “Why are you hitting yourself?”

well, a new word for everyone to remember. apparently, now I am a person with ocular adversity. So this is the new word us who can’t see for at least the next 64 hours until someone comes  up with a sillier term!

I’m convinced Republican politicians don’t actually believe mental illness causes gun violence. But they do it because they just know that demonizing people with mental illness has no political consequences and also that doing so buys them enough time to feign outrage until the next mass shooting dominates the news cycle.
