Sister-in-law brought over fresh tomatoes from their garden and so we will be having tomato sandwiches in the near future, which for me at least are a real treat and one of the things I look forward to each summer. Also, the weather’s been quite cool for August so we’ve been able to keep the windows open and air conditioners off since Thursday night.

I have informed @UVALibrary that I issued a “standing order” that all books I borrow are instantly not-overdue once they leave the library.

I wasn't saying the people who disagree with me are accessories to murder, I was just pointing out that they are on the same moral spectrum as murderers https://t.co/OHXSGQwy9l

Just to be clear: when law enforcement murders an unarmed Black person, they are to be believed. But when they investigate Donald Trump, they should be doubted, hunted and defunded. The consistency of the GOP is really something.

Just to be clear: he didn’t have it but also the FBI planted it which was ok because he’d already declassified it plus everyone does it and anyhow he still needed to read it to be prepared for the job he hasn’t had for 18 months

I think you should be allowed to say Salaman Rushdie should not have written his books, call on people to not buy his books, & lobby against him speaking somewhere. I don't think you should be allowed to stab him. These are not difficult concepts to simultaneously hold in my head https://t.co/3eLywWywae

Plausible Trump thinks DOJ is trying to get leverage to stop him from running, similar to pundits who prioritize guesses about effects on 2024.
But it’s not. He committed serious crimes, violating important laws we don’t want anyone to break, so he should face charges. That’s it. https://t.co/kg82yAw8Rp

To a degree, they're not defending Trump, they're defending themselves (as well as the Tribe)...

...because to concede Trump is what/who he is...

...is to concede they were conned, made a mistake, or were wrong.

Ego/identity cause them to keep doubling down & reinvesting.

Funny. That’s basically what Reality Winner said and she did 4 years in federal prison for a single 5-page document. But, go for it Peter…you idiot. https://t.co/5n3OmHR4Mw

I don't think Khamenei should be on Twitter but this is inherenty inconsistent. If you're mad about death wishes/threats on Twitter, "if you allow him you must allow all the other death wishes/threats too" is a weird position to take.

You're trying to have it both ways. https://t.co/PYMbqCULm1

Trump, at his next rally:

“You know documents sometimes just need to be moved. And big men, strong men, would come up to me at Mar-a-Lago, tears in their eyes, and say, ‘Thank you, sir, for letting me move those majestic piles of formerly-classified-now-declassified documents.’”

To be fair, any lawyer not cleared for classified material themselves would have to rely on the client's say so that everything had been returned.

But still, the hole keeps getting deeper for Trump https://t.co/oR7GOYjl1p

But have you considered we should undermine the very concept of 230, functionally revert back to the Prodigy decision, and make every website pick between “being a chanboard” or “turning off comments” because sometimes Yascha doesn’t like what people say on Twitter?
