Took my car in early this morning for a one hour service and ended up with an eight hour service.
So lucky my daughter rescued me and gave me a ride home.
Got back in time to take Summer on her rounds. It felt wonderful to see some sunshine.
Summer loves her acre. After a routine patrol, she rolled around in the dry grass and partied a little bit.
Happy puppy. Happy Friday.

I made this pin back in disability pride month in 20122. I’d love if you all could boost this and potentially buy some of my art. I’m a black, disabled non-binary lesbian who is homeless and my life is in DANGER. Any boost here will greatly help me.

The sudden collapse of Silicon Valley Bank is sending absolute shockwaves through the tech industry. Nobody is really buying into the narrative that “The risk of contagion is low” – the bottom line is, we don’t know. The last 8 years in tech have been really strange, driven by wild monetary policy driving reckless investment decisions even from VC’s whom I considered to be fairly conservative. We are due for a wider reckoning. https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/10/investing/svb-bank/index.html

So. Wondering what my ‘thing’ was?

https://make.wordpress.org/plugins/2023/03/10/advance-notice-of-retirement/

This is me letting y’all know that by 1-July-2023, I will not be the plugin rep no more.

This is 100% my choice, no one asked/forced/told me to do it.

Gotta take care of ME first.

By announcing a Fediverse social network, Meta has put itself in a near-impossible situation:

Having to maintain cash cow centralized social networks, while “planning” to build a decentralized social network that could put the company itself out of business.

And you wonder why I’m skeptical?

—@atomicpoet

What Meta has actually done is advertise the Fediverse to millions of people who have never heard of it before.

It doesn’t matter if they build anything. They just acknowledged that decentralized social media is the future.

And guess what? Meta’s current centralized products are not the future.

Silicon Valley Bank collapsing and the US FDIC stepping in is just another data point in a long line of tech bros being allowed to privatize their profits and socialize their losses.

Publications crossposting tweets in which they link one of their posts as a retweet of someone else’s thread which you can’t click on because they don’t include links to the actual tweet has to be the ultimate Twitter crossposting fail. We promise we will never do this because we believe in the fediverse and what its community is trying to build and we want to help build it with you.

When a Financial CEO asks bank clients to ‘stay calm’ as shares sink 60%, what he’s really saying is that the big investors have already abandoned ship and he wants the little guy to continue to be stuck holding the bag.

I am considering an #Accessibility Audit for the new #Funkwhale Website before bringing it live. I’d like to pay something for it, but I am not sure how much work it is. If someone is willing to talk about this, hit me up! Boost appreciated 🙂

Where is the AI app that turns an overproduced 10 minute YouTube video answering a simple question back into text that takes 20 seconds to read?
