@wiljames Yeah he really doesn't like the "Never again means never again" part.

@philliesfan4 @RMBlanco @cublanco @craftykitty All my goals have been met for today.
Those who boast of their “brutal honesty” are often more invested in the pain inflicted than the truths conveyed. Such people will seldom hesitate to inflict harm via falsehoods, either. A true warrior knows how to be honest in ways that build up rather than tear down.
I’m a grown-ass man who’s been doing what I do for 33 years, but when someone takes the time to send an email and give me positive feedback about my work, it’s still meaningful and is a welcome boost to my spirits.
Thank someone and let them know they did a good job. You’ll like the results.
I’m listening to the Braves game, and while that’s in the background, I’m reminding myself of why I rarely use Windows search.
I knew Windows search was dumb, but man, it’s really dumb. I was trying to search for a file I know I have, and it ended up being quicker to just start exploring drives.
I eventually found it.
Oh well, now WordPress default search can feel better about itself I suppose.

Y’all, I am preparing to read a complete avalanche–nay, a collapsing star–of bullshit.

@oliphant Yeah they were doing their best to firewall her off from Elon and reassure us all that no really she's not Elon we swear it'll be better. Except she's headed for the glass cliff, and that's assuming she's not, in fact, going to do all the crazy shit Elon's been doing. Then when people raise criticisms about her leadership/decisions we'll all be told by his fans "That's sexist how dare you!" Yep, calling it now.

@oliphant Oh I totally believe it. And I believe that the rest of that article is 10 times worse than what you shared.

@oliphant Good Lord, just the parts of that article you've share make me want to have a power vomit. Like, projectile vomit. Multiple times. Please God hold my hair back while I puke.

@cambridgeport90 Yes I love baseball, and softball to a lesser extent. I played beep baseball for a while, and also love NHL hockey along with cricket. Not a huge soccer fan, but will occasionally watch a game.

@boogiechild Wow that's hot, and I do not miss that kind of heat. Stay cool.
I don’t care if outsiders do full-text indexing on my toots. I am a public figure, and this is my public face.
I do VERY MUCH care if outsiders do full-text indexing on fedi nodes that have their “do not index/data mine” flags set. That’s a violation of consent.
The universodon folks say that fedi folks are creating cool content and should be discoverable. I absolutely agree that fedi folks are creating cool content!
Some folks DO NOT WANT TO BE DISCOVERED. Period. Their reasons are their own and best discussed over a drink. The fedi’s poor discoverability is a feature, not a bug.
The intent behind full text search might be good, but intent is irrelevant. Only impact matters.¹
And I’m saying that as a creator who depends on social media to survive.
Consent, and understanding consent, is important. I’ll be defederating from universodon.com this week, unless they stop this.
¹ No, I’m not quoting my orc stories. My stories are quoting me, who is in turn quoting any number of smart people.
