I haven’t done one of these in a little while, so, morning fedizens, we’re doing Tuesday.
I’m catching up on WWDC stuff, which I swore I wasn’t going to pay attention to but honestly I’m cautiously excited about Apple’s coming new augmented reality headset.
Specifically, I’m excited that one of these things will likely have some sort of working relationship with VoiceOver, which means blind people can participate to at least some extent in augmented reality. Next, all I can think of is that I will be able to have SeeingAI in a headset, which means I would get to use all its cool features. It’s not sight exactly, but for me, this kind of crystalizes the idea of being able to use technology to provide some sort of sense of what has always been a very visual world which, quite frankly, I’m sick to death of hacking in order to get things done or live my life.
And yes, I’m very much aware of all of the pitfalls and problems surrounding all this stuff. I’m also aware that this could become just as much of a disappointment as self-driving cars have been.
In sportsball news, woot woot woot! My Vegas Golden Knights won game two last night, thus banishing the Florida Kittens back to their basket with no milk!
