Biden nominates US official Anna Gomez after Senate refused to confirm Gigi Sohn.

I would have preferred Gigi Sohn because of her track record as a consumer advocate and the expertise she brings to that field, but of course the Republicans just had to fuck something else up and so we get more attempted capitulation as if doing this again will get the Republicans to like us or something.

In order to implement their anti-democratic policy agenda and political philosophy, they needed the influence and power of a court system impervious to the will of voters. In that pursuit, an institution named the Federalist Society became their main vehicle.

Love seeing people defend staying on twitter by bringing up people who's livelihood depended on it, as a person who's livelihood depended on twitter. You know what that made me do? It made me work extra hard to set up shop elsewhere because with my livelihood on the line I couldn't actually afford to stay on twitter and wait for Elon to destroy it and my livelihood with it
