Last accessible XMPP client I remember for Windows is Miranda. Honestly considering setting up XMPP myself at this point.

I think LJ still technically exists, although I'm not sure. I know the software was open sourced at some point.

Yes the chronological order was the best. Coupled with all of us only following a few people.

I kind of miss LiveJournal, especially the part where you had a friends page and you could keep up with their journals.
