@technocounselor A lot of it has to do with filtering certain words and hashtags when they're provided, although those who frequently post about politics rarely provide anything to grab onto in order to build an accurate filter. So it's essentially an arms race. Maybe with the new crop of Mastodon apps we can collaborate on a filter list and share it so as to create an experience whose goal is as little politics as possible? Just spitballing. Would be happy to help with this effort.
