@remixman@acarson My problem with it is the way it is forced upon people. Kids who won’t be able to afford it when they leave school, or oemployees forced into using it because of government mandates around who can write scripts etc. NVDA is comparable for so many computing tasks and people should have the freedom of choice. JAWS itself is great, I was a happy JAWS user for decades, it got me out of DOS and through my education and early career. My time as a sysadmin would hav really sucked to use it, though. I’d spin up VM’s or deploy servers so often, licensing would have been ridiculous. And Tandem’s never come near NVDA Remote for latency or efficiency.
@acarson Your going to be a jaws user for life, aren’t you. I use it for work, and I can see why its still awesome.
@cublanco I use NVDA too, and I love it. But i use Jaws pretty heavily so I need to keep it up to date.
@acarson Nice! Surprised jaws still has code for the pacmate.
@acarson I never understood why people bash JAWS so much. It does a lot and there are so many resources, etc.
