Until recently, this was common sense in both parties. Before the postmodernization of our curricula, before the neo-Marxist zombie-babies graduated into the workforce, before the “leaders” of the left and right blew up the guardrails, before the economy of clips. The radicals, the illiberal factions, the hordes of ignoramuses, the perennially online — of all political stripe — will have their ready-made, Qatar-packaged talking points about settler-colonialism and genocide and the USS Liberty and the Mossad and on and on. It’s easy enough to refute every last lie, but that’s the point, yes? It’s Sartre’s famous observation: The Jew defending himself, emptying his pockets to show he hasn’t robbed anyone, is playing the antisemite’s game. He’s already lost. The right response to the mythologies is usually (although not always) no response. Kudos to @DrPhil for reminding his audience what we used to be.
