@csgraves I might be able to trust that this were a true expansion of/upgrade in understanding of Jewish identity on the part of the state of California if I hadn't spent a bunch of time watching a statistically significant number of members of the non-Jewish world take and twist whatever they needed to from Jewish experience/belief/culture to further the lie that Jews are destroying what they hold most dear so they can gain or maintain power, only to then complain in performative outrage when we notice and call it out. At this point, I'm pretty sure this will, in the best case, not be good for the Jews. For those looking on from the sidelines, this isn't really that difficult. Jews are a "joinable tribal group with a shared history, homeland, and culture, part of which is religious. And there's a word for this in Hebrew. It's "Am", (pronounced Aam), as in "Am Yisrael".
