So after a day or so of using Overcast as opposed to Apple Podcasts, I have to say that my favorite feature so far is being able to use overcast.fm to play podcasts on the desktop. There are some accessibility issues with the player, but you can operate it with a keyboard, and each episode gets its own page. This means I can listen to podcasts while I work should I choose to.
@acarson I’ve been using Overcast for a few years and absolutely love it.
@jyarbrough This is my first round with it. I used Downcast for a while, then tried Apple Podcasts and absolutely hate iTunes, so switched to Overcast.
@acarson I love the playback effects in the Overcast app, the natural sound even when you crank things up to 2X or more, and the feature that eliminates pauses.
@acarson Wait wait. This is a thing? I did not know this. Must check this out. Is it just ovErcast.fm that you go to and log in? This could be a game-changer for me. I mean, my stream works but there are definite issues.
@nycki96 You need the app, because that’s how you add podcasts and also you can use it to verify your Overcast account if you don’t want to give them your email address, but once you do the initial verification for Sync you can indeed brows to overcast.fm, view your podcasts, and listen to episodes from there. You can also listen to partially listened to episodes from device to device.
@acarson You can also upload your own files if you pay for premium, yearly.
@cublanco What kind of files?
