Even as we rejoice this Passover in God’s salvation and redemptive acts in history, we must also take a moment to remind ourselves that we live in a broken world, and that we yearn for the day when we will once again give thanks and praise to God in the Temple in Jerusalem.

They say that even a broken clock is right twice a day. That’s what I thought when I read reports of recent comments by the spokesman of the Iranian Islamic regime’s foreign ministry, Nasser Kahani. I agreed with him—sort of. 

And the war against Zionism is the war for Jewish weakness.

The purpose of the commandments is for us to serve God by creating a Godly society. Even the laws that address individual behavior are meant to contribute to this goal. Our own private obedience helps make this Biblical vision a reality.
