@FreakyFwoof Not sure why you got the error, but here’s what you should get: https://www.oreillyauto.com/flux-500.html?q=121g
@acarson Nope, perhaps it doesn’t like chrome. I’ll try something else.
@acarson Oddly, same exact error in firefox and that’s just a portable install I have with no addons or anything like that.
@acarson Oh that’s funny.
@FreakyFwoof Can you run in incognito mode? I tried it in Chrome and FF and it works in both. If that doesn’t work, I’ll copy the text into a mention. I think it will fit.
@acarson Nope, apparently not. I wonder if it’s some kind of country-specific thing. Even when I go to the site without anything, that happens. It’s weird…
@acarson Gonna try the Mac, hang on.
@acarson This gets weirder and weirder. Even safari on an entirely different machine doesn’t like it.
@acarson OK, I’m using a wireguard VPN and now I can see it. Why’s it region-locked?
@FreakyFwoof That’s weird, I wonder if they’re geoblocking the UK? OK I’ll paste the text.

Plutonium is required to properly operate the flux capacitor
Plutonium is used by the onboard nuclear reactor which then powers the flux capacitor to provide the needed 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power.
Plutonium not available and O’Reilly Auto Parts. Please contact your local plutonium supplier.
Flux capacitor requires the stainless steel body of a 1981-1983 DeLorean DMC-12 to properly function.
Once the time machine travels at 88 mph (142 km/h), light coming from the flux capacitor pulses until it becomes a steady stream of light at which point time travel begins!
@FreakyFwoof Probably because they don’t want to deal with the absolute clusterf*ck that is the relationship between EU, UK, and US privacy regulations, or in the case of the US, lack of regulation.
@acarson ROFL! that is great! I love this!
@acarson regarding that last boost I just did about the easter egg, that is just too funny!
@FreakyFwoof @acarson it worked just fine for me using chrome. tat was just too funny.
@JamminJerry @acarson Yes, we worked out it’s region locked to the US…
@FreakyFwoof @acarson well that sucks! how rood!
@seedy They’re geoblocking for at least the UK, hang on and I’ll get you the text.

@acarson @seedy I think it’s actually stupid to make the user feel like they’re in the wrong, instead of just a generic ‘Sorry, we only sell to US markets.’
Utterly ridiculous.
@FreakyFwoof @seedy I think they should clean up the error, but there’s not a specific http code for when a site has been geoblocked so serving a friendly message is more difficult than it should be. Also geoblocking is a quick but very much not fit-for-purpose way to deal with cumbersome and/or poorly thought-through privacy regulation exchanges.
@acarson Haha that’s great!
@acarson I wonder what the age cutoff will be for people to understand this. Too funny!
@acarson That’s hilarious! How did someone even stumble across that? Great Scott!
@acarson Works on the iPhone also!
