I just noticed that a tab in my browser was using close to a gig of ram and honestly browser makers if you want people to not use adblockers then do whatever is in your power to help hault the adtech industry's fuckery because this is ridiculous.

It’s not their fault that this tab probably has an entire OS compiled using Emscripten and run just to show an ad!

@acarson thank god I haven’t seen anything using that much, but even very small things like a weather program I have that makes an html file using 50 meg, when all it is is text is just down right crazy! there is no pictures in the html code. I should know as I am the one that put together the template for it.
@acarson 2003: 512 MB RAM is a lot and lets you do advanced things like video editing
2023: one (1) web page eats 1 GB
