If Jack Dorsey & Elon Musk (who are friends) merely wanted to run a MAGA site full of fascists, they could have just bought Parler & saved themselves approx 43.999 billion dollars. What they wanted was to cripple the sad remnants of investigative journalism, and the political left, which successfully used Twitter for political organizing, activism & messaging throughout the Trump regime. Why would anyone who cares about either of these things go to Jack's #Bluesky project.

I've seen that people are complaining about certain instances wanting to block out Facebook/Meta and that we should consider the "normal users" and embrace the possibility of mainstream adoption. We have considered this and decided that certain demographics have decades of experience of being abused and harassed by Mainstream, Normal Users and having a safe haven away from that is more important than allowing Johnnie Randomnumbers to have the ability to debate their existence at them.
