The whole Trump presidency was about constraining the childish impulses of a fully grown man prone to outbursts and petty feuds.

But sure, tell my daughters they’re too emotional to vote. https://t.co/9DQZquzwgc

1. What part of Roe's legal analysis is substantially different from the other penumbral rights cases?

2. If Americans don't love a right it ceases to be a right?

3. "The guy who just set fire to what he himself called settled law is absolutely trustworthy" is childishly naive. https://t.co/VawsNKLhBD

It's weird, I've never been having sex with someone and thinking "oh, yeah, the fact that she could have an abortion means I don't need to care about her at all"

Have you considered "we'd treat women as disposable objects if there wasn't a risk of pregnancy" is a *you* thing? https://t.co/sYG4EhDGNM

Arguing that because a woman can choose not to carry your child you are incapable of finding someone who wants to marry you, having kids with someone who wants them with you, being a good father to your kids, or holding down a job is a profound admission of your inadequacies. https://t.co/7Q5Bw7n0jh

"a nearly incomprehensible complaint that the Biden administration forced social media sites to take down information, mostly before it was in office" - Guess we can go ahead and add "linear time" to the list of woke concepts GOP wants to cancel https://t.co/wzp4jw4XLM

This is thoughtful, but it doesn't address two problems with Justice Alito's draft.

(1) The "abortion is different" claim is completely disconnected from the "deeply rooted" analysis, which is what presents a danger to the personal autonomy line of cases. https://t.co/ecZYsPGBtV

The GOP doesn't want your 12 year old daughter to read "The Handmaids Tale". But they are absolutely giddy at the thought if making her live it.

Lots of people alive today experienced actual, legal segregation. Support for gay marriage nationally broke 50% less than a decade ago. To say, "The right isn't interested in legally rolling back social freedoms because that's in the past" strikes me as pretty naive and myopic.

Here is Louisiana’s new fetal personhood bill—which House Republicans just voted out of committee 7–2—making abortion a crime of homicide “from the moment of fertilization” and allowing prosectors to charge patients with murder. https://t.co/DJahoVd7mN

— Mark Joseph Stern (@mjs_DC) May 5, 2022

But I’ve been repeatedly assured by prolife folks that women who obtain abortions would be held legally harmless (whatever the fuck that means) if Roe were overturned. And yet, LA goes for this, and TN goes for criminalizing abortion pills by mail, and Texas goes for citizen bounties on women who have had abortions, and of course they’re strategically silent. I used to scoff at people who made comparisons to the Handmaid’s Tale. Now, I’m thinking they may have had a fucking point.

"They're teaching our kids that gay relationships are normal and acceptable, but I disagree and want my kids to grow up as bigoted as I am" is not the slam dunk argument against an imagined leftist takeover of education that the reactionary right seems to think it is.
