My kingdon for blind people not starting a podcast that has something to do with tech. God I am tired of blind people and podcasts to do with tech. There are other subjects in the world FFS, and it would be nice to see educated blind people talking about something other than tech.
I wondered when someone would say that. Concur.
Same goes for blind people talking about blindness.
You gotta love truncated tweets. On the surface that reads like you wish more people would talk about your website.
Amanda, you are quite right. Although I do a podcast with a group of people it’s not really about tech it’s about Radio but I guess that could be considered the same thing in some circles
that would likely depend on the topics covered.
I agree. I talk about music, and life! Heh.
I ramble on and on about psychology, criminology and forensics most of the time. I probably bore everyone to tears and then some. LOL
Have podcasted for over ten years and tech has never been my niche. Not even blindness comes up.
I have a podcast that has nothing to do with technology. The closest I came to talking about technology is mentioning A Hero’s Call. My only guest so far is another blind martial artist, but we did not talk about technology at all during the entire interview.
??
Lacey, can you provide a link to your podcast? Also yours Allen? Don’t get me wrong. There are good tech podcasts. But I swear, every time a new one pops up, it’s another gadget podcast. If we’re going to have new tech podcasts, let’s maybe have one on data protection, or ethical issues in tech, or something on why people click, anything but reviewing the latest hot thing from Apple or Google.
I started a podcast about braille. Tech comes up from time to time, but it’s more about literacy and the value of using braille. Would like more human interest stories and items about braille in developing countries. http://www.BrailleCast.com
?
This is going to continue to paint me with the unpopular brush, but I would just personally love to see a blind person not do a podcast on technology, blindness, accessibility, disability issues, etc. it just feels like that’s been done and overdone. It makes me sad, because I wonder whether or not people have any other interests.
I can honestly say that of the 20 or so podcasts I’m subscribed to, not one is any of the typical podcasts you’re speaking of.
I think technology is interesting, but I can read about the same crap and same myself the pain of listening to someone go on and on about the same articles I’ve in most cases already read about on my news feed.
So bloody start one then lol.
I don’t have the time to start my own podcast, I’m too busy working.
Exactly, and this is the very reason why I don’t start my own podcast, or recipe blog. Or, well, any kind of blog. 😀
Geez, Amanda, I’m old school like your mother! What the hell are you talking about? Ok, wait a minute, I wouldn’t have any idea anyway, never mind! I love you, sweetie! We’ll leave it at that!
