I use Akismet, but there’s nothing that prevents spam, only catches it after the fact. Akismet is pretty good, but you still have to sometimes go in and mark comments as spam.
Yeah, but it’s the best at catching most in my experience. I wouldn’t use a system that thinks it’s smart enough to block them before saving the post to the database so I could review potential false-positives
You can deal with ants using peppermint or powder. Hmm, new WordPress plug-in?

I never knew how to install Akismet, searching the directory and working out how to hit the install link. There must be an easier way…

What I mean by catching it before it gets posted, (and I know this is completely pie in the sky), is that spam just shouldn’t exist, period.
