Please boost for reach: Fedora Linux is focusing on accessibility for the next five years. I’d love to see people with disabilities, very much including blind people, comment on this. If you’re interested in Linux, or free and open source software, your voices are valuable. I hope Fedora finds our voices valuable too.

American Jews, You Have to Choose Sides on Israel by Thomas L. Friedman (nytimes.com)
Ever since Israel’s founding in 1948, supporting the country’s security and its economic development and cementing its diplomatic ties to the U.S. have been the “religion” of many nonobservant American Jews — rather than studying Torah or keeping kosher. That mission drove fund-raising and forged solidarity among Jewish communities across America.

Now, a lot of American Jews are going to need to find a new focus for their passion.

Biden FCC nominee withdraws, following bruising lobbying battle. “It is a sad day for our country and our democracy when dominant industries, with assistance from unlimited dark money, get to choose their regulators,” Sohn said in a statement shared exclusively with The Washington Post. “And with the help of their friends in the Senate, the powerful cable and media companies have done just that.”

It’s international women’s day.

While you’re talking about solidarity, don’t forget:
– trans women
– disabled women
– Black Women, Indigenous Women, and Women of Colour
– women in prisons
– women with addiction issues
– old and elderly women
– women who are sex workers

…the list goes on.

Remember all the women who are ignored and forgotten, even on days they’re meant to be remembered.

“The truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free.” – Maya Angelou

Give these Navajo women credit for making the Apollo Missions possible:

“The historic Apollo moon missions are often associated with high-visibility test flights… But intricate, challenging handiwork — comparable to weaving — was just as essential to putting men on the moon… the Navajo women who assembled state-of-the-art integrated circuits for the Apollo Guidance Computer… who wove the computer’s core memory.”
