Mastodon on your own domain without hosting a server
Useful if you don’t want to go through the trouble of setting up and hosting a server but still want to be found at your domain and have control of your data.

Aside
I’m not saying Mastodon wouldn’t benefit from some UI improvements, but I suspect that at least some of the people complaining about how complicated it is weren’t early adopters of Twitter. And by "early adopter", I mean anything before 2010 or so. Trust me, early Twitter was fairly complicated.

Regarding the Fedified project: I’m against its desire to be a centralized verifying authority, but I also recognize that for a lot of Twitter expats, they don’t have a website they control on which to place a link to their Mastodon profile with a rel attribute, and I think those of us who have been part of the fediverse/federation/indieweb for a while should probably grant some space on this.
