Just got a comment from a fellow chastising me for talking about the Fediverse beyond Mastodon.

He thinks we’re dropping the ball on Twitter migration by not focusing 100% on Mastodon.

However, 30% of the Fediverse doesn’t run on Mastodon.

Some server software, like Friendica, was on the Fediverse 6 years before Mastodon was created.

Sorry we’re not shutting things down just because Twitter migrants recently showed up.

#fedifinder did not get suspended, but authorization with Twitter API V2 doesn’t work at the moment. Please use https://fedifinder-v1.glitch.me/ (uses API V1) until Twitter resolves the issue or falls apart.

If countries want to ban TikTok, they should make privacy laws and then ban it legitimately on account of violating privacy regulations (along with many other sketchy companies’ social platforms as well – yay!) instead of trying to ban it because it’s Chinese.

Make privacy laws and then ban Meta and Twitter and everyone else who violates them.
