Lauren Boebèrt proudly announced that she’s about to be a 36 year old grandmother. Not trying to shame anyone, but…😬

As David Pakman points out, she opposes teens transitioning, yet is happy about her son following in her footsteps as a teen parent. I remember how hard it was raising kids in my late 20’s and 30’s. Teens should be making dumb mistakes, not pretending to be grownups.

Just hoping her grandkid is raised better so they at least learn about birth control.

If you have been sleeping on the national security threat that are data brokers, finally we have a story that connects people’s political agendas to their data buying strategies and how they used the current systems to dox a gay priest https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/03/09/catholics-gay-priests-grindr-data-bishops/

Using #vim is easy once you learn a few basic keybindings.

h and l – move left and right
j and k – move down and up
η and λ – move backwards and forwards through time
ξ and κ – translation through additional temporal dimension (if applicable)
ᚻ, ᛄ, ᚳ and ᛚ – moving left, down, up, and right through celestial spheres
𐤄 and 𐤋 – switch deity to pantheon member to left or right
ᛄ – supplicate to chosen deity
ᚳ – challenge chosen deity (dangerous)
:q – exit

The fact that Americans are risking their lives traveling to a region of Mexico controlled by cartels in order to obtain healthcare says a lot more about the USA than it does about Mexico.

[edit: The fact that many people carry around value hierarchies and judgment regarding other people’s medical procedures is ALSO very interesting]

@chadloder

So you know, you win some, you lose some. Que sera, sera.

I generally have far better engagement experiences here on Mastodon than I did on Twitter, but the ratio of reply guys and other trolls is higher, too.

But because I learned from Twitter, I am more than prepared to block a user or an entire instance on sight or to tell somebody to STFU because they’re a fucking moron.

I don’t do nice with assholes.

US Big Tech: it’s okay to spy on users and send all this data to the other side of the world. :blobcatcoffee:

TikTok: okay! :blobcatcool:

US Big Tech: wait, no, not like that! :blobcat0_0:

I am not saying something should not be done about TikTok. I am saying the same thing should be done about all other privacy-invading social media crapps. And in fact should have been done years ago. :blobcatthinksmart:

Design is not art.

No, I don’t mean that design isn’t artistic. I mean that when you ask the questions “what is art?” and “what is design?”, you get fundamentally different answers.

Art has no function, it’s pure form.

Design has form and function, where the first priority is function.

So, to complain that accessibility is a creative barrier to good design, is like complaining that nutrition and hygiene are barriers to good cooking.

@siblingpastry

Here’s some #foodForThought : For some #disabilities, #accessibility in #gaming has historically been so bad that their only respite was to make their own games that work well for them, but rarely for other target audiences. This has created what may as well be separate worlds of games that will rarely intersect, and exceptions to the rule can be counted on two hands. This perpetuates segregation, and I wish we could all see just how much of a problem it really is.

I have a piece in the Washington Post today on the *real* reasons Tennessee and other states are trying to ban drag shows, giving some historical background on crossdressing in Tennessee #drag #tennessee #LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 #histsex https://www.washingtonpost.com/made-by-history/2023/03/09/drag-shows-tennessee-bill-lee/#:~:text=Gift-,Article,-By%20Rachel%20Cleves
