Google ruins every good thing it does with twisted incentives that mean they shut it down in its infancy. Microsoft ruins every good thing it does by trying to cram ads into it.

God damn it. I’ve literally been warning FOR YEARS that LLMs will cause someone to commit suicide. I use this example in all my talks on why we need more research on safe NLP systems. The example I literally use is that a chatbot will reinforce someone’s suicide ideation and they will act on it. Now it’s happened. Now it’s real.

Your desire to keep YOUR child from learning ACCURATE black history doesn’t mean MY child doesn’t get to. And just because YOU’RE offended by Michelangelo‘s work, doesn’t mean MY child shouldn’t see it. Crying “parents rights” doesn’t mean YOU have the right to parent MY kid. Or ANYONE else’s. 🥚 A simple custom

For whatever reason some people don’t like the standard HTML checkbox and radio button, they seek to jazz ’em up and in the process the often jizz up the usability/accessibility of these controls.

ICYMI in my feed yesterday Mozilla Firefox has browser anti-fingerprinting built in, it’s just not enabled by default.

Browser fingerprinting is when 3rd parties use your computer’s characteristics such as which fonts you have installed, your type and number of CPUs, etc. to uniquely identify you to advertisers or other even less friendly sorts.

In Firefox type in About:config, click the warning then type in the search window: resist

Set
privacy.resistFingerprinting
to True.
