Yes. I don't mean to suggest that just because it's not official policy that rape never happens, nor does anyone else. But the resolution she's voting present on isn't about rape in general, it's about rape as a method of warfare, and honestly if she said yes I'm going to vote yes on this and then use my platform/go to the UN/write my own resolution to call out incidents of rape by IDF soldiers in the territories and how Israel is doing nothing about it, she could totally do that and I'd be 100% behind her on that. But she hasn't once done that, before or after October 7. So either it's not that important to her at all, or at best is's whataboutism on her part.

Also, the Israeli army isn't using rape as a weapon of war against Palestinians. Just sayin' Not that you're saying they are, but that she seems to be trying to say things like this.

I completely understand your getting out of that particular game. You cannot educate people who at the end of the day want to be lied to and told what they want to hear.

Also, and let's be absolutely clear about this, the extent of Trump's support for Israel is to say blustery things about it and otherwise not give it or its people any aid. He couldn't care less how many Israeli civilians die or are injured. Hell he just ordered the Republicans in the house to tank aid to Israel so he could have the border to run on. Not the actions of someone who loves Israel.

Yes as a person who can't drive and so relies on public transportation where it's available and Uber/Lyft everywhere else, I'd absolutely love it if all the people screaming about Israeli apartheid did something about the apartheid in their own Goddamn neighborhoods. Then maybe we can talk about whatever apartheid may exist in other countries.
