@tsquires Portable is fine we just want to also be able to use our phones and stuff along with our computers to read because we read all the things (OK that part's probably just me). I'll look at Luna though if I can't find anything else that fits the bill.

@tsquires Yes cross-platform would be nice, and if it worked with Inoreader that would be a plus because that's what I'm using now and it's the interface that sucks not necessarily the backend.

Like being able to organize feeds under a specific subgroup so you can read by topic, for example.

Haven't started looking yet, just have everyone's suggestions gathered and will mess around with this after work I think.

@FreakyFwoof @jscholes Yeah I wasn't even going to touch on moderation in this thread because that's an entirely different set of challenges that pile on top of the technical ones.

@jscholes I don't mean to pick on Tweesecake specifically. I'm just saying that if you're going to run an instance for others, be aware of what you're getting into. This applies all the moreso the larger the instance.

@jscholes Looks like it's the Tweesecake home server from more scrolling on my part. Seriously though rolling your own Mastodon server from start to finish all on your own and maintaining and making sure it continues to run is neither uninvolved or inexpensive. And people really need to consider this before running a server for others.
