@dukepaaron This law codifies the Trump executive order I believe, which is basically Congress's way of ensuring that a not Trump president can't just reverse it with another executive order. It's also probably not going to do much in the way of anything actually practical on behalf of Jews facing problems of antisemitism on campus, assuming it passes the senate. Which, in this climate, I'll be surprised if it doesn't.

@richard_merren @lolgop Yeah I'm thinking of those lefties but there are too many ad-hoc groups to list them all. The original point of the post I boosted though was specifically not to let the fact that there's definitely opportunism on the Republican side detract from the fact that a bunch of leftists really are demonstrating that they have a nazi bar problem, as the saying goes.

@richard_merren @lolgop Republicans and democrats aren't homogenous ideological blocks, and support for Israel isn't necessarily an indicator that a party doesn't have its own antisemite problem. There are plenty of Christians in the Republican party who support Israel because it fits into their end-times prophecies, for example, not because they care about anyone living there. Also, Republican leadership is absolutely taking advantage of all this because it's politically advantageous for them to do so. Not that a bunch of progressives haven't absolutely handed antisemitism to them on a silver platter.
