What bugs me about all the "don't-legislate" talk around all this and the "we-must-contextualize" stuff is that we would never do this for any other bigotry or conspiracy theory, and if anyone suggested it Reich would be one of the loudest people against contextualization if anyone suggested it. And I agree with Serge's point with regard to what the alternative is supposed to be if people like Reich get their no legislation wish. So I would ask, if we're not contextualizing other bigotries/conspiracy theories, then why is it OK for people who are concerned about antisemitism to be held to a higher standard when we're told we must contextualize?
