I’d really like to take your word on this, but the fact is we have been repeatedly assured by people like you that stuff like the overturning of Roe wouldn’t happen, and every single time we turn around it does. See: anti-CRT efforts turning into all-out bans, just-asking-questions efforts regarding trans issues quickly turning into all out anti-LGBT campaigns, and of course, Roe itself. And honestly, I’m sick and damn tired of people like you pissing on my leg and telling me it’s raining.

See this whole thing is interesting to me because I distinctly remember being reminded by numerous Jews during the Trump administration that we were not to question Ivanka’s status as a Jew simply because she was spotted publicly doing non-observant things.

And honestly, I don’t see much of a difference between questioning someone’s actual status as a Jew because non-observance, and questioning a sizeable group of Jews’ right of free exercise of religion because they’re not observant of even a whole lot of things.

Does anyone want to guess what would happen if Saudi Arabia appointed an official to fight anti-Islamic bigotry and then that official went on MSNBC to talk about Trump’s age, Walker’s secret kids, or anything but what was relevant to their actual job?

Spoiler alert: Republicans would lose their shit. And yet, anyone who says that this is direct action on the part of the State of Israel to meddle in U.S. politics will absolutely be accused of antisemitism by performatively outraged Republicans, whether the person saying it is a Jew or not. Or maybe they’ll just go with self-hating Jew or something like that.
