@dangillmor I'll suggest that if you have to name the generic thing you do, (newsletters in this case), after your software, you're not very confident in your software.

@queenslight Yeah my next post is going to be that Mastodon is just the beginning of the fediverse and there's a lot more out there that can all interoperate with Mastodon.

@pilhofer @weirdwriter @jeffjarvis No I don't think you're missing something, Ghost is a more fully featured platform whereas Buttondown is basically "We let you do a newsletter and handle all the backend email bits with some limited design".

@theglobalvoice Welcome to the fediverse, or at least Mastodon. You'll find that Mastodon is your gateway to the wider fediverse, and also that there's a ton of other stuff to explore here: Bookwyrm for books, Funkwhale for music, and you can follow users of other apps all from Mastodon.

@ANGELGIRL1976 Most of your weather stuff will likely go away, as most of those accounts use the API to automate posting and that's done as of yesterday I think.

@keao @munchkinbear @Pipistrelle Yeah it can, because what Mastodon tries to abstract out in the function of "aliusing" is just DNS, so all those conditions apply, including propagation.
