So if you're reliant on REST API stuff don't use them because they will (a) casche your endpoints and (b) even when you exclude those from casche they'll end up back in the cue. Pagely is a little more expensive but doesn't tend to have these issues.

I think for managed hosting, WPEngine or Pagely are better than the traditional hosts who have decided to get into managed hosting. Of those two, WPEngine tends to not accommodate things like Python clients and indieweb stuff very well at all, specifically indieauth and micropub, both of which require API endpoints. +

@dnikub By "bespoke websites", do you also mean the drag-'n-drop creations currently flooding the web? Because if not we need to make sure that's added to this because honestly it's where a metric ton of the problems come from. And this may be a market failure, but all of these solutions have arisen because businessowners demanded them and they don't want the limitations that an accessible out of box platform would necessarily have to place on websites.
