@luvlabguidedogs Usually in the crockpot, but we've been focusing on trying to cut down on portion sizes so he made it on the stove in a smaller pot. I suppose we could make it year-round but we typically don't.

@summersun704 We can send you the recipe if you'd like. It's pretty easy to do and consists of mostly stuff from cans and some ground beef, but we've also done it with ground turkey.

@summersun704 @ThatMermaid_J My overall point is that safe/unsafe isn't quite the correct wording for the situation of direct messages on social.

@summersun704 @ThatMermaid_J It's not that it's any less safe than big social, both Mastodon and big social don't encrypt their messages. What I would say is be aware of the kind of things you're sending via DM on any service except one that encrypts its messages like Signal or Telegram. Note: I like Signal better but that's just me.

@summersun704 @ThatMermaid_J I'm not sure that's true. I think it depends more on the quality of your moderators, specifically whether or not they're proactive and/or whether or not they're diligent about responding to reports and when necessary dealing with people causing trouble for people on their server.

@Lynessence @ThatMermaid_J There's some work being done on this, for now a third-party tool, but I'm hoping Mastodon itself works on this. The archive is a mess though so I think that'll be part of the work.

@summersun704 @Kirk @Lino0876 @oldladyplays It's not just about privacy. It's about the appearance of wrongdoing when you take upon yourself the role of office and/or you present yourself as somehow righteous when everyone else who's not on your side is wicked.

@Kirk @Lino0876 @summersun704 @oldladyplays There's all kinds of places to find out. My point isn't about the other side, it's about *your* side. This time it happens to be Clarence Thomas. What he's done or not done doesn't become OK just because both parties do it. It's not OK no matter who does it. I thought Alma and I were pretty clear about that?

@Lino0876 @summersun704 @Kirk @oldladyplays OK but that's not an excuse for not calling it out, especially when it's your team doing it. Only calling out bad things when it's the other team doing them is about as morally bankrupt as it gets.

@summersun704 @Lino0876 @oldladyplays I'm honestly surprised they haven't automated that entire process by now. This includes things like resetting login credentials. Good grief it's 2023 and everybody else has automated by now.
