Which makes this extra gross, because everybody's on an accessibility journey, and hiding previous mistakes/trying to make it look like you've always been on top of the game speaks to nothing but bad intent ions.

There wouldn't have been a conversation because everyone involved obviously thought it was OK. You only have a conversation when there's some debate to be had. Granted, that would have been bad enough.
