@annaecook I don't know if it's that simple. But then, I'm probably just really jaded because I've heard all the excuses for why we can't make $thing accessible/wontfix/not merging your pull request. And yes that includes orgs supposedly all in with DEI. And at the same time, I'm 100% certain that the people trying to kill off DEI give 0 fucks about accessibility and couldn't care less that they're killing it along with the rest of DEI.

I think you should drop in without telling them and then bask in the awkward silence that will inevitably follow. Of course I'd prefer that they get it together and stop making assumptions, but as long as they're going to make assumptions and you don't get the accommodations you need I think any resultant schadenfreude resulting from their embarrassment is fair game.

I mention bad actors because I spent a lot of time living in the south of the US and witnessed/experienced a lot of rightwing antisemitism while also witnessing rightwingers making almost the same excuses some leftwingers are also making for leftwing antisemitism right now.

Doing my best to avoid campus spaces while also avoiding the bad actors who care more about scoring political points than they do about any kind of antisemitism. I live a couple blocks from Penn State.

Yeah same. I had a heatpump for something like a decade. They are, to put it mildly, not cheap to use. By any stretch.

I hope you and yours are staying safe.

One other thing I'd also recommend is hiding boosts for a while and/or muting for a specific period of time. Those are also options.

Sometimes you just gotta hit that block button.

@heydon I made a point of making sure there wasn't any coffee in my mouth before watching this, and it's a good thing too because I would have spit it out several times had there been any.

I'm starting to think getting burner number and adding that to the list in lieu of my real number might be a good idea.
