This is still asking people with disabilities to do accessibility work for free. Which becomes less and less OK as the decades roll on.

I know how you feel and am sending hugs/good vibes across these here internets because honestly I don't know how we don't just burn it all to the ground except that if we do that we have nothing better waiting in the wings.

@TonyStark In future, if you find yourself in a position to not be able to add alt text, either because temporarily out of spoons or something like permanently totally blind so can't describe images, you can add the Alt4Me hashtag to your post and someone will pick it up and reply with a description you can then copy to the alt text box.

The point is that the SMS (short messaging service) and MMS (media messaging service) protocols, both of which underpin text messaging, impose a 160 character limit on messages, 20 characters of which is reserved for the username. So users developed various shorthand words and since iMessage is far from universal those shorthands persist.
