This is going to be an immense shitshow, so here's a guide to keeping your Twitter experience less shit when Discount DD Harriman guts Twitter's already-under-headcount T&S department: https://t.co/6yjzWe4NaB

If you're really worried about a Pennsylvania senator struggling to communicate, I'd like to introduce you to Sen. Pat Toomey, who never once held a town hall in Philadelphia or nearby in 12 years as the state's junior senator

Yeah people (INCLUDING Jews colluding with the far-right, btw, who of course non-Jews felt they should defer to) were exploiting people’s fear of overusing a very serious word and in doing so buying time to entrench their project in the mainstream of the GOP. Super cute!

I remember thinking at the time, "Oh. Okay. Maybe I should not be calling those people Nazis even though they seem like Nazis. Maybe I am deficient in my understanding of their politics." But now we have people being Nazis in the open and they were Nazis all along.

Antisemitism is associated with an evil so atrocious (the Holocaust) that good people don’t want to imagine that it’s as widespread as it is. https://t.co/xjSdRyEgN9

I don’t even think this is an empathy issue. It’s about understanding the nature of Fetterman’s current challenges and how they would affect his ability to do his job in the short and long term. Right wingers are massively overstating the impact.

"Nonono, see it's not that I'm being hypocritical for voting for a candidate after he had a stroke while saying anyone who has a stroke is unfit for office, it's just that I lied repeatedly about voting in that election"

I think a lot of pundits just have no idea at all how intensely some people who struggle with a disability, or who have loved ones who do, are responding to Fetterman right now. https://t.co/uDrhkJZS2w

This is absurd. Go back and look at the coverage of Mark Kirk, the Republican senator, after he had a stroke. Liberal media criticized Kirk not at all. The only paper to cite the stroke as a reason not to vote for Kirk was the Tribune, which was a conservative paper. https://t.co/oLEK2XaZRf

Kirk missed almost a full year in office because of his stroke. Liberals did not call for him to step down while recovering. And the Trib (which endorsed him in 2010) felt the stroke had taken such a toll that it couldn't endorse him in 2016. Liberals didn't make it an issue.

I get knocking Fetterman for having wealthy parents, but doesn’t it matter what you do with that wealth?

Because as far as I can tell he took it and used it to try and improve Braddock, PA and create opportunities for its youth. Isn’t that what we want rich people to do?
