This morning brought news of yet another mass shooting in America. GOP politicians quickly responded that banning guns would be impossible and wouldn't solve the problem. Of course, in order to express that view, they had to take a short break from their work attempting to ban (among other things) children's books, abortion drugs, health care for transgender people, and drag shows.

Why it matters that he calls them “racist” and “animal.”

Who says out loud that they want more immigrants from Norway and fewer from Haitee? The same person who’s been saying that stuff out loud since 2015 and the same person who millions of Americans nonetheless voted for more than once and the same person who has numerous defenders who are more than willing to go to the wall for him no matter what he says or does.

But don’t you dare do so much as imply that there’s a hint of racism in any of this. None of these people are racist, they all have black/Jewish best friends and they love Israel for extra insurance just in case the best friends aren’t enough.

Playing with Substack's new notes feature, and they call reposts "restacks". Doesn't that imply that something was stacked in the first place? Other than that, and Substack's already-existing accessibility issues, (oof that editor), not a bad attempt. Then again, not sure how you can screw up something like notes, although Elon Musk will probably figure out how to do it and give us a masterclass.
