"No President has ever been so insulting and divisive as Biden" say a great many people who positively reveled in Trump's daily routine of insults and divisiveness. No President should be insulting or divisive, but it's hard to take these reactions seriously.

That doesn’t mean your condemnation is political or unfair, improper, out of bounds, or anything of the sort. And yet people who know better are pretending to get hung up on Biden condemning Trump and MAGA by name, ignoring entirely the reason for the condemnation.
I don’t understand what is confusing about this. The head of the Republican Party doesn’t believe in free, fair elections and encourages his supporters to believe as he does. Condemning that necessarily means condemning him and his supporters who believe as he does.
We moved on in 2000 *because* people accepted an outcome they disagreed with. Democrats didn't attack the Capitol in 2001. Al Gore didn't demand an immediate new election in 2002.
Whataboutism is one thing, but it's a bit much hearing the wounded wails today from the same people who never had a problem with Trump lobbing at Democrats whatever nasty insult he could Mad Lib together from his third grade vocabulary.
