I think the term "prompt engineering" is essentially a buzzword marketers use to sell courses/seminars and won't have any staying power long-term. And yes I'm in tech. And, learning how to state a problem clearly, including in specific contexts, and then breaking that problem down into its constituent parts so you can solve it, is first-year programming. So the way this will end up is either you will learn to clearly state problems/parts of problems to the LLMs you work with, or you'll probably lose your job if you work in corporate tech, and no one's going to hire someone who only has the "prompt engineer" skillset.
