These kinds of lawsuits, including quantity, are part of the reason why accessibility is perilously close to on life support here in the U.S. And I'm not gonna lie, I will never forgive the blind people who participate in this. Lawsuits are quite literally the only enforcement mechanism the ADA has which is bad enough, and we have these people doing high-profile stupid shit because they figure it's an easy way to supplement their monthly income.
Yeah, I know, RIP my mentions, but with the week I've had I do not care in the slightest.
@acarson Yup, totally agree. Profiting on such things is awful and helps nobody.
@mcourcel @acarson Absolutely!
@acarson @mcourcel you are absolutely right! There are those that just file with wrong information in hopes of getting a settlement. We got one in California where we don’t actually have any presents. I so wanted to push back, it would have been easy to win but legal department just wanted to make it go away. So frustrating! If you are experiencing real harm by not being able to access a site, there are ways to wort that out. However, almost all the ones I have encountered have been either drive by based on a scan of a landing page or something or filed by a plaintif who have filed many with a law firm who has filed many more. Easy to look this stuff up when you get one.
